Insta has signed a significant agreement with Meyer Turku shipyard covering the electrical modernization of two hall cranes. In the project, the technology of the two 2 × 25‑ton overhead cranes—largely in its original condition—will be upgraded to meet today’s requirements and production expectations. The modernization will enhance both the usability and operational reliability of the cranes.

Insta and the Ukrainian defence company Tencore agree on technology cooperation related to unmanned ground vehicles

The Finnish technology company Insta, specializing in defence solutions and cybersecurity, and the Ukrainian supplier of robotic platforms Tencore have agreed on extensive Build With Ukraine joint production initiative, cooperation and the development of military technology.

According to the agreement (Memorandum of Understanding), Insta and Tencore will advance and explore the localization of production of unmanned TerMIT UGV ground vehicles in Finland. Insta delivers major electrical and instrumentation installation contract for ŠKO-ENERGO’sheating plant modernization project in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic. ŠKO-ENERGO is a comprehensive energy supplier providing electricity and heat to Škoda Auto’s production facilities as well as heat to the city of Mladá Boleslav. The project is one of the largest energy sector modernization initiatives in the Czech Republic.

Insta’s contract is part of a broader delivery by Valmet, which includes the modernization of two existing circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers and the delivery of one new bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) boiler. Fluidized bed boiler technology improves the plant’s energy efficiency and reduces emissions. The investment supports sustainable energy production and meets growing environmental requirements.

Insta strengthens Espoo’s data center power infrastructure – Finnish technology expertise enabling digital growth

Insta is implementing a large-scale substation project in Espoo, where it is responsible for the delivery of the entire electrical infrastructure for the expansion of atNorth’s FIN02 data center.

This is a solution in which Insta is responsible for all phases of the project, from design to implementation, ensuring that the additional electrical energy capacity required by the data center is delivered efficiently and without interruptions. The delivery includes 110 kV cabling from Caruna’s substation to the new substation, the construction of a transformer bunker, two 50 MVA main transformers, protection cabinets, equipment installations, and cabling between the main transformers and medium-voltage switchgear.

The project began in October 2025 immediately after the contract was signed and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Insta acts as the main contractor with full responsibility, ensuring a clear division of responsibilities, efficient project management, and a reliable outcome for the customer.

Insta & F-35 – Close cooperation far into the future

Starting in 2026, the first Finnish Air Force Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II multi-role fighters will arrive in Finland, and the first fighter was presented on 16th December 2026 in Texas.

The F-35 fighters will strengthen Finland’s defense capability and security of supply for decades to come. A total of 64 F-35 fighters will be delivered to Finland.

As a strategic partner of the Finnish Defence Forces, Insta supports the building of the Defence Forces’ capabilities throughout the life-cycle of the systems. So far, Insta has been responsible for the maintenance of the avionics systems on the Hornet fighter jets. As a long-term partner, Insta’s cooperation with the Defence Forces will continue for decades into the F-35 era.

Finnish Defence Forces procure systems support services from Insta

The Finnish Defence Forces procure defence system support services from Insta. The services acquired are in accordance with the strategic partnership agreement between the Defence Forces and strategic partners.

They cover support services for military aviation, maritime defence, intelligence, surveillance and command and control systems. Deliveries will mainly take place between 2026 and 2030.

Insta has been collaborating with the Defence Forces since the 1970s, when Insta began maintaining avionics equipment for the Air Force. Later, the defense business expanded to cover all branches. Insta and the Defence Forces signed a strategic partnership agreement at the end of 2015.

Insta to Deliver Fazer’s Largest Automation Project at new Lahti Factory

Insta has landed a significant and exciting assignment to deliver the main automation system as well as process electrical and automation installations for Fazer’s new chocolate factory in Lahti. Operations are set to start in 2028.This project represents the largest investment in Fazer’s history and one of the most notable undertakings in the history of Finland’s food industry.

The delivery includes the factory’s main automation system, which integrates all production equipment and processes into one unified platform. Insta is also responsible for process electrical and automation installations, ensuring seamless commissioning and reliable operation. The project began immediately after signing the contract and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. Insta’s delivery phase will conclude in early 2028, guaranteeing a smooth and uninterrupted production start-up. Close collaboration will continue throughout the entire project until the factory is fully operational.

Construction work on the new factory, covering approximately 33,300 square meters, started in summer 2025. During the construction phase, the site will employ hundreds of professionals, with an estimated workload exceeding 500,000 working hours. The new production facility will be highly electrified and automated, and its comprehensive energy recycling system will make it CO₂ emission-free in terms of its own energy consumption. Additionally, the factory aims to achieve BREEAM environmental certification. Operations are expected to begin in 2028.
